Twelve Oaks Farm, LLC was established by Larry and JoAnne Brinkman when they purchased the farm property in 2002. After moving from the Pacific Northwest where they had lived for many years and owned their own equestrian facility, they decided to set up a quality equestrian facility in their new Midwest location. JoAnne spent many years showing and training Arabian horses. She started a focused study of the art of Dressage 6 years ago. Her studies have taken her to Epona, a BHS riding school in Spain, the Bartles BHS riding school in England, annual visits with Francisco Barrena, a classically trained instructor in Mexico. She has also attended several clinics including Conrad Schumacher and Debbie McDonald, audited private lessons by George Williams and Betsy Steiner, has spent time in Florida during the winter training with Bill Warren, and currently trains with Twelve Oaks Farm’s accomplished and talented head trainer, George Michael. Through these experiences she has gained a sense of appreciation for a quality, trained and talented dressage horse. Her dreams came true when she recently imported her 7 yo Dutch Warmblood gelding, TOF Ramon. Larry enjoys the beauty of the horse in its natural environment. A trail ride at the local state park or just being around the farm is where he finds harmony with the horse.
